Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Reverse Marketplace collects, why it is used, and how marketplace records support requests, listings, offers, messages, payments, shipping, reports, seller compliance, and account safety.
Information we collect
- Account information such as name, email, phone number when required, profile photo, and region or location details.
- Marketplace content such as requests, listings, photos, offers, counteroffers, prices, delivery choices, return windows, and item details.
- Messages, notifications, report details, review details, support requests, and account enforcement records.
- Transaction records such as accepted offer details, payment status, shipping address for shipped transactions, carrier, tracking number, and meetup details.
- Seller compliance records when needed, such as seller type, legal or business name, business address, tax reporting status, Stripe connection status, high-volume seller status, and compliance notes.
- Technical information such as device/browser data, authentication state, logs, and basic usage data needed to operate and secure the website.
Age and minors
Reverse Marketplace is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. Reverse Marketplace does not currently perform formal age verification. Users confirm that they are at least 18 when they agree to the Terms during sign-up or sign-in.
The service is not directed to children under 13. Children under 13 may not create accounts, provide names, email addresses, phone numbers, region or location information, upload images, send messages, post requests, create listings, or otherwise use marketplace features. If Reverse Marketplace learns that an account may belong to a person under 18, the account and related marketplace activity may be restricted, removed, reviewed, or paused where appropriate.
How information is used
Information is used to operate the marketplace, show nearby or relevant requests/listings, process account login, support messages and notifications, support payments through Stripe, keep transaction records, handle reports, enforce rules, improve the website, and communicate important updates.
Payments and Stripe
Shipped transactions may use Stripe checkout and connected Stripe accounts. Reverse Marketplace may store payment status, checkout references, seller Stripe connection status, and transaction summaries, but card numbers and sensitive payment details are handled by Stripe rather than stored directly in the marketplace app.
Seller verification, tax, and marketplace compliance
As seller activity grows, Reverse Marketplace may collect or maintain additional seller records for payment processing, tax reporting, high-volume seller review, prohibited-item enforcement, account safety, Stripe requirements, the INFORM Consumers Act, Form 1099-K readiness, or other legal compliance. Sensitive tax or identity details may be collected directly by Stripe depending on the connected account flow.
Compliance records may include seller type, legal or business name, business address, tax country, tax reporting status, Stripe account status, annual gross payment totals, transaction counts, high-volume seller status, verification deadlines, disclosure status, compliance notes, and related manager review records.
Sharing with other users
Some information is shared with the other party when needed to complete a deal. For example, a seller may see buyer request details, a buyer may see seller listing details, and shipped transactions may share shipping address, carrier, tracking, item details, names, messages, or accepted offer terms as needed.
Service providers
Reverse Marketplace may use service providers for hosting, authentication, database storage, image storage, email sending, payments, analytics, and security. These providers process information as needed to provide their services.
Retention and account records
Marketplace records may be retained while an account is active and after account restriction, deletion, or banning where needed for safety, dispute review, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting, or marketplace integrity. Some public or shared records may remain visible when needed to preserve transaction history.
Your choices
Users can update eligible account information in the account area. Users can delete or edit certain requests/listings where the website allows it. Some records, including transaction, report, ban, or support records, may not be editable or removable by the user if they are needed for safety or compliance.
Security
Reverse Marketplace uses authentication, hosted database services, and payment processing tools to protect marketplace records. No website can guarantee perfect security, so users should use strong passwords, keep login credentials private, and report suspicious activity.
